Summer vacation has come to an end.
August 23 marked the first day of classes at MCCC.
The mood on campus was upbeat and hopeful as many students congregated outside in hopes of enjoying the pleasant Wednesday afternoon.
Student Government had a "Welcome" tent set up outside of the A Building and were handing out chips and pop.
President Kojo Quartey is optimistic about the new school year.
"After a long summer, we are pleased to have our many eager and bright new and returning students. We all look forward to working with these students as we attempt to enrich and transform their lives," he said.
Quartey hopes students will put their time at MCCC to good use.
"The most important work we do at MCCC is motivating and inspiring our students to be the best that they can be – getting them to dream big dreams, to keep hope alive and to believe, first and foremost in themselves," he said. "That is our mission at MCCC."
