Diversity mural looking for volunteers

The MCCC Gay/Straight Alliance is looking for volunteers to add their brushstroke to a new mural on campus.

The mural is intended to celebrate diversity, one of the goals of the Gay/Straight Alliance.

Most of the artwork will be done by contest winner Steve Ryder. However, volunteers are encouraged to participate as a statement on the work’s content.

“This is the first of its kind on the campus,” says GSA advisor Penny Bodell. “Everyone’s brush stroke represents our campus community and its willingness to live and exist in harmony.”

Times are available in half-hour increments from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 16, 17, 18 and 19.There is also a 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. time slot available on Sept. 18.

The mural will be located in the A building, across from the cashiers office. To contribute, call Penny Bodell at 1-734-384-4316. All times are booked on a first come, first served basis.
