The Monroe Charter Township board approved the site plan for the Detroit Edison solar installation on MCCC’s campus at their regular meeting Nov. 8.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place Monday Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. next to the Physical Plant building. The ceremony is open to the public.
The installation is part of Detroit Edison’s SolarCurrents program, and the solar panels on campus will be constructed, owned and operated by DTE Energy.
MCCC is the first educational institution to participate in the program.
