Heartbeat of Monroe teamed up with Crosswalk Community Church, and other churches in the area, to bring Nick Vujicic to Monroe.
“We were honored enough that we received the proceeds from the collection that night,” Sue Miller, assistant director and volunteer coordinator at Heartbeat, said.
Heartbeat is a non-profit, donation-based pregnancy resource center.
“The purpose of Heartbeat of Monroe is to give free and confidential assistance to anyone who is dealing with a pregnancy or the parenting of infants and toddlers,” Heartbeat’s Web site stated.
Last year the center gave out 23,035 diapers to mothers in need.
Heartbeat is a pro-life center, promoting motherhood and adoption over abortion.
“We are here to honor the sanctity of life and acknowledge that life begins at conception,” Miller said. “It’s all about life; why else would we be there?”
