With hard times hitting many, MCCC offers ways to help save students money while taking classes.
The automatic payment plan is a way for students to enroll in classes, and not have to pay the full tuition upfront.
For a $40 non-refundable enrollment fee, students can use the automatic payment plan to pay for classes monthly with no interest.
To use this service, visit the e-Cashier at www.monroeccc.edu and click on “Tuition and Fees” and then click “e-Cashier.”
The sooner you enroll in it the better, with classes filling rapidly and payments being
easier the sooner you start.
Before Nov 27, there was an option for five monthly payments with no down payment required. On Dec 18 it will raise to a 25 percent down payment with four monthly payments. Jan 15 brings it to a 40 percent down payment with three monthly payments.
Other things students can do to help with tuition and school costs is apply for scholarships.
Students should plan ahead for scholarships, as applications have a deadline.
The deadline for applying for scholarships for the 2010-2011school year is April 1.
To apply for a scholarship, a student needs to use the STARS Online Scholarship Application.
To use STARS Online, a college ID number is needed, as well as your major. Knowing your current Grade Point Average will also help.
Students applying to classes late need to prioritize when they register. Some classes fill up quickly, and others are offered only a few times in a year.
Further information on the automatic payment plan, scholarships and more can be found at the Financial Aid Office in the Administration building.
